Meet HOBO Harry
Harry is one of the loveliest people you could ever hope to meet and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with this free spirited man
HOBO Harry (real name Harry Mansfield) got his nickname from his school days due to his free spirited bohemium dress-style. Harry is proud to keep this nickname HOBO Harry even now
As a creative dude, he likes to create !
After years of making fragranced candles in his hometown of Aviemore, Harry went on to experiment with fragranced oils to explore how to blend particular oils to create a beautiful and unique fragrance. Being inspired by Tom Ford Fragrances, Harry wondered if he could duplicate these or make similar scents
He learned about a term called Gas chromatography mass spectroscopy (GC/MS). This is where the sample fragrance (to be duplicated) is injected into a gas chromatograph which volatilizes the sample, then separates the various components of the sample based on size and/or polarity. The separated components then go into a mass selective detector. The resulting mass spectrum allows for the identification of the components using standard reference libraries and can therefore breakdown and identify exactly which ingredients are in this sample, for example : Tobacco & Vanille by Tom Ford
After the samples were broken down into compounds and the ingredients identified and labelled, Harry could then duplicate these with the main focus on the Top Notes, Middle Notes and Base Notes, he could attempt to mix these fragranced oils with the perfumers alcohol base and leave to cure for the correct time
Harry went on to duplicate designer fragrances from Tom Ford, GUCCI, YSL, Armani, Chanel, Creed and Jo Malone
WHEN HARRY MET LYN
Harry and Lyn ( Lyn Lyons - Hypnotherapist ) got chatting at a Glasgow Networking Event and agreed to work together with Harry making the blends to re-create Designer Fragrances such as Tom Ford and many others and with Lyn working on the marketing and packaging side. They continue to work together now with Harry blending the fragrances in his little old hut in Aviemore and Lyn packaging and Marketing from her little cottage in Houston in Renfrewshire to bring to you :
